Su and Ian’s Westminster Wedding

I had already photographed Su an Ian for their civil ceremony. 2 weeks after that we met again for their church blessing at St. Clement Danes, Aldwych. The church, the Central Church of the RAF, is absolutely beautiful with an exceptionally wide aisle. The service was definitely slightly out of the ordinary, one of the highlights being Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol performed as choral piece. You can listen to the original below, I recommend listening to the song as you look at the photos.

After the ceremony guests got a Routemaster tour through London. Spirits on the bus were high despite the rain outside, thanks to nibbles and champagne. We moved on to the reception venue after a group photo stop at Buckingham Palace.

The recpetion venue was the fabulous Cinnamon Club in Westminster. Su and Ian spent a lot of time on their stationary and everything from the invites up to the table names was based on the same beautiful black and red design with great fonts, printed on pearl paper. In place of the traditional wedding favours, Su and Ian chose to make donations to 2 charities dear to their heart and guest were asked to affix their charity pins at the beginning of the reception. The couple had a sit down meal with speeches followed by the party and cutting the cake in the club’s private bar. All in all it was a wonderful day, with wonderful people, attention to detail, yummy food & drinks.

With Ian being an architect, we couldn’t miss the opportunity of capturing the nearby Westminster Abbey at night.
